Phase 1: Locating the Terminal's IP Address

Ensure the terminal is plugged in. It will power on automatically and make a sound to indicate it is starting up.

From the terminal's home screen, tap to open the Settings app.

If prompted for a password, enter
pax9876@@or9876. -
Tap on Network & Internet.

Select Wifi and ensure that the Ethernet toggle is switched to the ON position.

Find and log in to the correct Wifi.

Once connected, open the TSYS Sierra or Vantiv application.

Locate your terminal's IP Address displayed on this screen. Keep this screen open or write the number down, as you will need it for the next phase.

Phase 2: Updating the IP Address in PUREJOIN POS

On your iPad, open the #PUREJOIN POS v2 app and log in using your PIN.

Tap on Menu (located in the top left corner), then select Settings.

Scroll down until you find the Terminal IP Address section.

Enter the exact IP Address you found on the PAX terminal in Phase 1.

Ensure the Port field is updated to
10009. -
Tap Save.

Completely log out of the app and log back in at all registers to apply the changes. The terminal and POS are now connected.
Phase 3: Processing a Test Transaction
(Note: TSYS Sierra or Vantiv is the main application used for processing payments on the terminal.)

On the PAX terminal, press the Home button to return to the home screen, then open the TSYS Sierra app.

On your iPad POS, ring up a test transaction.

Select Debit as the payment method.

Complete the test transaction on the PAX A35 terminal to verify the connection is working before processing payments with customers.

(Note: The PAX A35 supports insert/chip, swipe, tap, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.)
